Walt Disney World opened its newly constructed Town Center neighborhood at Disney Springs on Sunday. Twenty three retailers were operating on the first day.
Opening their doors to guests Sunday were, in alphabetical order, Alex and Ani, American Threads, Edward Beiner, Everything But Water, Francesca’s, Johnston Murphy, Kate Spade New York, Kipling, L’Occitane en Provence, Lucky Brand, MAC Cosmetics, Melissa Shoes, Na Hoku, Pandora, Sephora, Sperry, Tommy Bahama, UGG, Under Armour Brand House, UNO de 50, Vera Bradley, Volcom and Zara.
Two other eateries opened elsewhere at Disney Springs on Sunday. Morimoto Asia Street Food, a walk up window, is operating in the Landing neighborhood, adjacent to Town Center. Wolf’s Sausage Co. officially opened in the Marketplace area.
Disney confirmed four other businesses expected to open in May: Aristocrepes, Lilly Pulitzer and Trophy Room in Disney Springs and STK Orlando, a restaurant in the Landing.
And these stores will open later this summer at Town Center, Disney says: Anthropologie, Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza, Coca Cola Store and Rooftop Beverage Bar, Columbia Sportswear, Free People, Frontera Cocina, Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Shine Bar, Johnny Was, Lacoste, Luxury of Time by Diamonds International, Oakley, Origins, Shore, Sugarboo Co., Superdry, Tumi, UNIQLO and Vince Camuto.
Disney Springs’ second parking garage opened Sunday as well. Between the two facilities, there are 6,000 slots for vehicles. Parking at Disney Springs remains free.
The opening of Town Center is the latest step in the re imagining of the area, formerly known as Downtown Disney. Additional stores will open in phases in the coming months, with Town Center being about half open as of Sunday.
Town Center was built in a former parking lot adjacent to the now shuttered Pleasure Island (now known as the Landing); it’s just south of the Marketplace side of the complex.
