ugg boot wedges 7 things Floridians do when it’s cold outside
Temperatures have dipped into the 30s in many parts of Southwest Florida Thursday morning. And the low temperatures have Floridians reconsidering their life choices.
To help get us through this trying time (FloridaWinterStrong), here are seven things Floridians do to get through the 5 day winter blues.
1. Your iced latte becomes a hot latte
Typically the combination of extreme humidity and your need for a caffeine fix means you’re ordering an iced coffee beverage. But with windchills below freezing, it’s time to beg your barista to throw out the cup sleeve because you need to warm up your frozen fingers.
2. Uggs on the beach
Nothing will keep you from watching the sunset, not even freezing temperatures. Throw on your beanie, dig through your closet to find your beach boots, and head to the closest beach. Maybe along the way you grab a hot chocolate.
3. Share cold weather memes on social media
It’s not fair to suffer in silence and that’s why you’ll find all your Florida living friend sharing cold weather memes.
4. Make a pot of chili
Check out any line at Publix and there’s someone there with tomato sauce, beans, and meat on the conveyer belt because this is the one time of year Floridians can enjoy hot food.
5. Wear socks
It’s hard to ditch your flip flops for the day (unless you’ve invested in flip flop socks), but dig through your sock drawer in hopes of finding two that match. Don’t worry, in three days you’ll be able to slip comfortably back into your sandals.
6. Put on every other cold weather clothes you own
It’s not enough to wear socks and boots. You’re going to need three sweaters, one heavy coat, and at least one scarf to even make it out the door to work.
